Izmir

Izmir

The public transportation was quite professional actually. Thanks to İzmir city hall for providing free access to public transportation for press card holders.

For sure, every city has its own good and bad parts; at least most of the cities have. Izmir was not as developed as I expected. Has many non-urbanized areas and this really causes a negative impression both for the city brand and the authorities.

Interestingly Turkish political segmentation was visible there. As I have seen people rad more leftist papers and books.

Stayed in Smart Hotel with 3 friends as I was there to conduct an EU project. The hotel was OK and the lady at the reception was so kind. But cannot tell this for all staff there since they did not cooperate much. Nevertheless deserves to stay: at the heart of the city, value for money and the breakfast.

We went to see the Clock Tower and had a short chance to walk atKordon, seaside. Not more to tell. :(
