Bir TÜBİTAK projesi kapsamında yeniden İzmir'e gitmek nasip oldu. Kısa mesafeli olsa dahi her yolculuk heyecan veriyor; yenilenmiş hissediyorum. Yolculuğumuza "değerli bi abimiz" eşlik etti. Çok da iyi etti sağolasıca. Aramızda konuşurken, herkese, "değerli bi abimizdir" der de kendisi, bu yüzden onun da adı "değerli bi abi" olarak kaldı. 😊 İzmir'de kaldım; ama proje alanı Tire'ydi. İzmir'den Tire'ye doğru giderken, beni almaya gelen üniversiteden arkadaşım bir sürü şey anlattı Tire ile ilgili. Doğrusu anlattıklarını önceden bilmiyordum.  Benim mi, yoksa Tire'yi anlatamayan yerel yöneticilerin suçu mu; orası da ayrı bi konu. Tire'nin taririhi Romalılara kadar gidiyormuş. Hisarlık yöresinde tarihi yapılar hala mevcut ve gezilesi. Tarihi eserleri arasında Çanakçı Mescidi, Şemsi Mescidi, Doğancıyan Zaviyesi, Necip Paşa Kütüphanesi, Abdülselam Yeni Han, Kurşunlu Han, Eski Yeni Hamamı gibi eserler var. Derekahve ço

Izmir The public transportation was quite professional actually. Thanks to İzmir city hall for providing free access to public transportation for press card holders. For sure, every city has its own good and bad parts; at least most of the cities have. Izmir was  not as developed as I expected. Has many  non-urbanized areas and this really causes a negative impression both for the city brand and the authorities.  Interestingly Turkish political segmentation was visible there. As I have seen people r ad more leftist papers and books.  Stayed in  Smart Hotel  with 3 friends as I was there to conduct an EU project. The hotel was OK and the lady at the reception was so kind. But cannot tell this for all staff there since they did not cooperate much. Nevertheless deserves to stay: at the heart of the city, value for money and the breakfast.  We went to see the Clock Tower  and had a short chance to walk at Kordon,  seaside . Not more to tell. :(
